It's been almost 2 years that I've stepped foot into KL (I live in Selangor)
All my previous visits have been behind the comfy filter of a car/train/shopping complex. Yesterday I stepped foot onto Petaling Street & ate at a roadside hawker stall.
The food was awful, the floor was dirty, the air was dusty and beside me, there were KK mart workers beating up a beggar. There were more angmohs & foreign workers than Malaysians. I felt like I was back in Philippines.
I look up and the buildings were covered in dirt and grime. The shop I visited stank of cigarette smoke and cramped.
I don't miss KL at all.
